Happy Friday, friends. Many of you know that my last work contract ended in early April and I’ve been staying at home with Max. Since we are living on my husband’s salary alone, I’ve become more of a bargain hunter in an effort to be more fiscally responsible. And who doesn’t love the thrill of finding something awesome on sale?! I’ve also been making more of an effort to support small, local, family businesses. I think it’s important to support our entrepreneurs, dreamers, and makers! Hope you enjoy a few of my recent finds…
Animal hand puppet
Max loves his new dog wool puppet from Cate + Levi! All of their stuffed animals and puppets are handmade from recycled and reclaimed materials by a family business in Canada.
I decided to pop into Macy’s the other night just to see what they had for a few of the upcoming weddings I’m attending. I snagged this blue striped nursing friendly dress – which many of you know is really hard to find – for a really good deal! Pair with a leather jacket or a cute blazer and all three of these would work for a fall or winter wedding. (Ps – you can save an additional 6% cash back on Ebates if you order online!)
We were given a Faribault blanket as a wedding gift and I love it! It’s perfect for sitting outside on fall days – for tailgates, picnics, and apple picking – is really high quality, and is made in the Midwest (MN)!
Since it’s getting colder, I wanted to get Max some shoes and boots to keep his tootsies warm during our morning walks. Old Navy is having a major sale right now and has some adorable options for boys and girls. Their moccasins are so cute and such a steal compared to the Freshly Picked mocs for $60!
Lake Effect Co. sweatshirt
I’ve been living in my Lake Effect Co. sweatshirt since the cold weather returned. My friend and amazing girl boss, Katherine, started this local company to spread her love of lake life. Check out her new fall/winter products (so cozy!) or grab the summer gear on sale! She’ll also be at the State Street Market Geneseo this weekend for anyone in the Quad Cities area.
Don’t just wait for inspiration. Become it. – unknown
Enjoy your weekend! xx
